On Wednesday 5 June we are taking over campus to get people active for the first ever UoB Xtra Campus 3K! Students and staff will come together to walk, run, push or skip their way to the finish and support each other’s active wellbeing.

It’s about enjoying being outside in our beautiful campus altogether rather than finishing as quickly as you can (but feel free to sprint if you’d like!). So, whether you’re donning your trainers for the first time, getting involved with some outstanding fancy dress or simply taking a stroll with your friends, anything goes – it’s 3K your way!

The details

The event is taking place entirely on the Edgbaston Campus on Wednesday 5 June from 13:40 in the Green Heart. You need to pre-register to participate in the event.

How to get involved

There are multiple ways to get involved and join in with the Campus 3K:

Open to students and staff, for free, you can enter online. We have been able to extend the entry deadline to Tuesday 4 June at 17:00, but if you enter by 17:00 on Tuesday 29 May you will receive a your own personalised event bib!

We are looking for volunteers to help make this an unforgettable experience with roles including course marshalling, guiding participants to the right places and event registration. To volunteer at the event you'll need to be available from 12:00-16:00 on Wednesday 5 June 2024 and attend a short online training session on Monday 3 June where we'll take you through what you'll be doing. We also have the option of volunteering to support handing out event numbers in the week leading up to the event. Register your interest.

Prefer to support from the sidelines? There are plenty of great places along the route to cheer everyone on as they complete the course. Make a power up sign, bring your best cheers and encourage everyone as they make the most of our beautiful campus!
