The Birmingham Institute of Forest Research (BIFoR) are offering bursary-funded internships, to be undertaken part-time between 16-27 June.
These internships will offer a range of opportunities and activities, including:
- Sustainability in Action training.
- Reviewing BIFoR’s stakeholder engagement activities.
- Learning about and experimenting with the creation of content aimed at capturing activity and engaging stakeholders.
- Becoming a STEM Ambassador, opening up a range of opportunities for you to get involved in and providing you with a DBS check).
- Visiting the BIFoR FACE site in Staffordshire for the day to gain an understanding of the research being undertaken as part of BIFoR’s activity.
- Undertaking the Future Forests project (linked to COP30) in an interdisciplinary team.
- Supporting and evaluating the Future Forests Summit, an on-campus day-long event for A-level students who’ve undertaken the future forests project.
- A range of workshops to help you get the most from the internship and understand what you can do next to stay engaged with sustainability activities and initiatives at University and beyond.
Applications are particularly encouraged from Birmingham Scholars and/or those who have a home address in an IMD Quintile 1 (indices of multiple deprivation, IMD Deciles 1 and 2, lowest 20%) neighbourhood. If your home address is in Northern Ireland you will need to contact us with your home postcode so that we can check your alignment with IMDQ1.
