'\;This seminar marks International Wo men&rsquo\;s Day by retrieving the voice and agency of Miss Jessie Ball ( 1904-1983). Among her exploits was the daring rescue during the London Bl itz of precious files belonging to the Bible Churchmen&rsquo\;s Missionar y Society. Now housed in the Cadbury Research Library\, they have provide d the core material for my doctoral dissertation.'\;
