Take a springtime break with Winterbourne'\;s free garden t our! As part of the University&rsquo\;s Green Week activities\, Winterbou rne House and Garden is inviting staff and students to join a free guided tour on Tuesday 17 March (11am&ndash\;12pm). It&rsquo\;s a chance to ste p away from your desk\, get some fresh air\, and see the garden as it beg ins its transition from winter into spring.

Led by Winterbourne &rsquo\;s Horticultural Supervisor\, Will\, the tour will explore seasona l highlights across the garden and share what the team is seeing in real time. March often brings the first real signs of spring\, with early colo ur and scent starting to appear across Winterbourne &ndash\; including da ffodils\, hyacinths\, hellebores and cherry blossom.

How Winterbourne is gardening for a changing climate

Alongside the spring highlights\, you&rsquo\;ll learn how climate chan ge is affecting seasonal patterns. Shifting weather and more extreme cond itions are making it harder for gardeners to predict when plants will flo wer and how they will cope. You&rsquo\;ll hear how Winterbourne&rsquo\;s gardeners are adapting to these challenges\, while championing the most s ustainable gardening techniques possible.

\n\n< p>This activity is open to staff and students. Please reserve your place in advance to avoid disappointment and book using your University of Birm ingham staff or student email address. The tour will start at 11:00 on th e terrace and is expected to last 40 minutes. On arrival\, please check i n at Winterbourne&rsquo\;s visitor reception\, and be prepared to show yo ur staff or student ID if asked.
