Become a volunteer auditor with Students Organising for Sustainability UK (SOS UK) and the University of Birmingham. Thi s training session will equip you with the necessary skills and knowledge to become a Green Impacts Lab Accreditation (GILA) auditor\, with full t raining provided by SOS UK. with breaks and self-study time built in.

\n\n

Following the training\, you will spend some time reviewing the GI LA work of staff who work in wet labs at the university and preparing que stions to ask. You will then meet with the staff where you can ask questi ons and make final decisions on your audit\, before feeding your results back to us. It'\;s a great opportunity to view real-world implementati on of sustainability in the lab environment and workplace\, and build new skills in communications\, analysis and team work.

The audits will mostly be in person\, with some online\, from the afternoon on Tuesd ay 9 \;June until the afternoon on Thursday 11 \;June\, so you ca n put your new training into action straight away.

\n\n

Experience o f working in a laboratory will be helpful\, although not essential.

\n \n

We are committed to making our training as accessible as possible. I f you have any requirements regarding accessibility\, please let us know a week beforehand. Specifically\, we can provide slides in advanced or in a particular format and suitable accessibility breaks. If you have any o ther requirements please let us know in the form below and we will try to meet those needs where possible. Please note\, this training uses comple x language and you will need to be able to understand English fluently to understand the training\, and be able to communicate fluently with your assigned teams.
