 elling us about any disabilities means we can advise and provide you with
  the appropriate advice and support throughout your studies. A disability
  may be a long-term health condition\, physical or sensory impairment\, a
  mental health difficulty\, autism\, and specific learning disabilities\,
  such as dyslexia\, dyspraxia\, and dyscalculia.</p>\n\n<p>These sessions
  are designed to help you find out more on specific topics and meet membe
 rs of the team. You don&#39\;t need to attend every session - just come a

 ;Overview (45 mins) (10:15 -11:15)</h3>\n\n<p>Get an overview of the Disa
 bled Student&rsquo\;s Allowance\, the process of applying\, the types of 
 support available\, eligibility\, undertaking a needs assessment and what
  to do when you get your&nbsp\;report.</p>\n\n<h3>Suspected SPLD (1hr) (1
 1:30 &ndash\; 12:30)&nbsp\;</h3>\n\n<p>Do you think you may have a specif
 ic learning difficulty (e.g. Dyslexia)\, and want to hear more about the 
 types of support available on campus?&nbsp\;Think about study skills and&
 nbsp\;useful techniques\, hear about the screening process and diagnostic
  assessments\, and ask any related questions of our specialist SPLD advis
 ors.</p>\n\n<h3>Meet the SDS team (1hr) (13:15 &ndash\; 14:15)</h3>\n\n<p
 >Join us for an informal drop in opportunity to meet the team and learn a
 bout wider support services across the university.</p>\n\n<h3>BeBirmingha
 m catch up (1hr) (14:30-15:30)</h3>\n\n<p>If you attended (or&nbsp\;were 
 invited) to the BeBirmingham transition event\, come along to hear experi
 ences from those who have attended the sessions before\, ask any question
 s they may have encountered over the first week\, and network with other 
 students.</p>\n\n<h3>Assistive Technology (1hr) (15:30-16:30)</h3>\n\n<p>
 Hear about the different types of assistive technology that are available
  on campus\, where these are located and how you can access them\, as wel
 l as resources available to you&nbsp\;externally. You can alsoo learn abo
 ut the other services available in the library such as digitisation servi
 ce\, bookshare etc.</p></body></html>
