Take a springtime break with Winterbourne's free garden tour! As part of the University’s Green Week activities, Winterbourne House and Garden is inviting staff and students to join a free guided tour on Tuesday 17 March (11am–12pm). It’s a chance to step away from your desk, get some fresh air, and see the garden as it begins its transition from winter into spring.

Led by Winterbourne’s Horticultural Supervisor, Will, the tour will explore seasonal highlights across the garden and share what the team is seeing in real time. March often brings the first real signs of spring, with early colour and scent starting to appear across Winterbourne – including daffodils, hyacinths, hellebores and cherry blossom.

How Winterbourne is gardening for a changing climate

Alongside the spring highlights, you’ll learn how climate change is affecting seasonal patterns. Shifting weather and more extreme conditions are making it harder for gardeners to predict when plants will flower and how they will cope. You’ll hear how Winterbourne’s gardeners are adapting to these challenges, while championing the most sustainable gardening techniques possible.
