Students are invited to our EPS International Women’s Day Speaker and Panel Event on Wednesday 11th March. This event is aimed to inspire, connect, and empower our undergraduate and postgraduate students.
We have two fantastic speakers from STEM; Professor Adrienne Houston from the School of Engineering – a mechanical engineer, entrepreneur, and visiting professor - who will be sharing their journey advocacy for others and why they champion underrepresented groups in STEM; and Olive Lau, Project Engineer at Aegis Engineering Systems, a graduate from the College of EPS at the University of Birmingham, who will share their unique journey, and advice on networking, confidence, and personal growth. Each speaker will then be open for any questions you may have.
This will be followed by a Question and Answer panel of three inspiring women who are staff from different areas at the University of Birmingham, and will provide insights into what they do, barriers faced and overcome, and navigating the workplace. This is a great opportunity to ask questions and receive great advice!
Afterwards there will be a chance to network, catch-up with fellow students, and speak informally to the speakers!
Light refreshments will be provided.
