Reserve the date in your diary to attend this event, specifically organised to widen your awareness of the variety of careers beyond an academic one. Completing a PhD or post-doc gives you a wealth of transferable skills which can be employed in a wide variety of roles outside of traditional academia.
The programme is a chance to attend a variety of presentations, take part in direct discussions with speakers, meet fellow researchers across the three STEM colleges (CMH, EPS, and LES) and enjoy a hotel lunch. Speakers include those from fields such as scientific writing, software development, lab science, university professional services, and IP/ patent law. Also included in the days agenda will be a session on how to get your CV into shape and networking.
