The Birmingham Plastic Network invites you to step into the shoes of policymakers for the day. In collaboration with DEFRA, join us for an interactive event featuring insights from government policy advisers, a hands-on policy workshop and networking opportunities.
Hear from DEFRA Economic Adviser Isabel Morriss and Senior Policy Adviser Katie Hobson about policy processes and civil service careers before taking part in a stakeholder simulation workshop. This will explore the incoming Deposit Return Scheme, which DEFRA will roll out in 2027, that will transform how we recycle in the UK. Lastly, you can practice your networking skills with civil servants, academics and professional service staff working in policy and sustainability
