Join Professor Sabine Lee and guest speaker Martina Broström-Samb for an interactive lunchtime event exploring Sexual Exploitation, Abuse and Harassment (SEAH) in humanitarian and peacekeeping settings.
The session will introduce the work of the RESPONDER partnership and feature a guest speaker presentation from Martina Broström-Samb, Manager of Complaints, Investigations and Survivor Support at CHS Alliance and a leading advocate for accountability and survivor-centred reform within the humanitarian sector. The presentation will be followed by audience Q&A and an interactive activity.
This event will explore why safeguarding and accountability matter, the challenges faced by victim-survivors, and how organisations can work to create safer and more effective humanitarian responses. Whether you are interested in humanitarian aid, international development, politics, law, safeguarding, human rights, or social justice, this event offers an opportunity to engage with an important and often overlooked issue.
No prior knowledge is required, and all University of Birmingham staff and students are warmly welcome.
